Central Committee Educational Series: Eric Dittmer: Emergency Preparedness … getting ready for “the really big one”

Thursday, September 24, 6:30 PM
OEA Building at 2495 S. Pacific Hwy., Medford

Eric Dittmer, SOU Professor Emeritus of Geology and Environmental Studies, has agreed to give a presentation on emergency preparedness at our September Central Committee educational series.  Professor Dittmer’s academic interests include geologic hazards, especially earthquake hazard reduction and water resource management. This promises be a very informative and timely program, something we should promote widely.

We encourage everyone to read the July 20th New Yorker article, The Really Big One, for background material prior to the meeting. It’s a very sober and thought-provoking look at what’s in store for our area when the next Cascadia subduction zone earthquake occurs.
